Jennifer Chaiken and Emmalee Bierly opened up The West Chester Therapy Group in 2014. Recognizing that all human beings could benefit from therapy, but most kept themselves from the experience, they dedicated themselves to creating a unique therapeutic environment that would open therapy up to even the most skeptical. |
The West Chester Therapy Group was founded on 4 principles:
- De-stigmatizing Therapy: Therapy at The West Chester Therapy Group is for anyone who is human. We all need a place to feel like we can safely express ourselves.
- Creating a Non-judgemental Environment: No matter what you are going through, we strive to create a nonjudgmental environment where you feel welcomed, accepted and can talk freely about your experience. Society judges? We don't.
- We are Human Beings First, Therapists Second: We make it a point to be real with you. To be human beings and to connect with you on that level. We take a down-to-earth approach using humor, our personalities, our love and caring for others and of course, our training. We want you to feel like you’re talking to a REAL person, not someone who is throwing psychobabble at you.
- Connecting With YOU as a Person, Not “Your Problem.”: We believe that you are NOT your problem. We want to get to know you, who you are, what makes you you, and help you work through what you’re bringing into therapy. You are not defined by your struggle.
