Amelia Innis, MFT
Amelia Innis, MFT is a Marriage and Family Therapist who believes our connections with other people have a profound impact on our happiness and mental health. This belief informs her work with clients, which emphasizes healthy relationship dynamics, interdependence, and healthy self-esteem. Amelia’s training in systemic thinking helps her track patterns and maintain a broad perspective when working with her client’s specific goals and needs.
Amelia received her Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Thomas Jefferson University. She has training in individual, premarital, and couples counseling, as well as sex therapy. She specializes in working with men around masculinity, shame, anxiety, relationship difficulties, and sexuality. She provides a space to explore these topics with empathy, curiosity, and flexibility. Although therapy can be an uncomfortable and difficult process, it is truly a rewarding journey toward understanding and self-acceptance. Amelia uses several different therapeutic approaches including Narrative and Relational therapy, which focuses on the stories that we share with others and the story that we tell ourselves. Challenging these narratives, and editing the plot, can lead to growth, change, and ultimately healing. |
